Tips for your UK passport photo (online)
- Show your head, shoulders and upper body. The passport office crops it.
- Someone else must take the photo.
- Plain light background that contrasts with your face.
- Stand in front of a plain, light wall, a step away from it so no shadow falls behind you.
- Face a window so light falls evenly on both sides of your face.
- Ask someone to take the photo about 1.5 m away, at your eye level, with space above your head.
