Tips for your US visa photo (DS-160)

  • Square JPEG, 600 × 600 to 1200 × 1200 pixels, 240 KB or less.
  • No glasses. No red-eye fixing.
  • Use a real camera or the back camera of a good phone.
  • Stand in front of a plain, light wall, a step away from it so no shadow falls behind you.
  • Face a window so light falls evenly on both sides of your face.
  • Ask someone to take the photo about 1.5 m away, at your eye level, with space above your head.
