Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information PicRule (www.picrule.com) collects, why, and your rights. The service is run by PicRule. Contact: admin@picrule.com.

1. Your photos

Your photo is checked and cropped inside your own browser, on your own phone or computer. It is not uploaded to our servers and we never see it. To place the crop, the tool measures the position of your face (for example where your eyes and chin are). These measurements are used only for that moment and are not saved or used to identify you.

When you download a photo, a copy of the finished photo is kept in your own browser so you can download it again from My account on the same device. You can remove it there at any time, or by clearing your browser data.

2. Information we collect

  • Account details: your name (optional), email address and password (stored encrypted). We use these to give you your account.
  • Your email choice: whether you agreed to receive tips and offers, and when.
  • Usage records: which document you made a photo for, whether it passed our checks, and when you downloaded it. These are linked to your account if you are signed in. They help us improve the service and show your download history.
  • Technical information: like all websites, our hosting company keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.

3. Why we use it (legal basis)

  • To provide your account and the service you asked for (contract).
  • To keep the service secure and improve it (legitimate interests).
  • To send you tips and offers, only if you ticked the box (consent). You can withdraw consent any time in My account or by using the unsubscribe link in any email.

4. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and ask where the law requires it.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. It is stored with our website hosting provider, and emails are sent through our email provider. They process it only on our instructions.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account until you delete it. Usage records linked to your account are deleted when you delete your account. Records not linked to an account contain no personal details.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. You can delete your account yourself on the My account page, or email us at admin@picrule.com. If you are in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Accounts are for people aged 16 or over. A parent or guardian can make a photo for their child using their own account.

9. Not a government service

PicRule is an independent service and is not connected to any government. We do not process passport or visa applications.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
